Are your hands or feet dry, cracked, or peeling? This may be caused by several factors.
Your skin is the largest organ of your body and it can be affected by what you eat, what you drink, your environment, as well as your health conditions.
Here are some reasons for your hands and feet being dry, cracked, or peeling:
- Lack of vitamins in your diet – such as A, E, and C
- Lack of essential oils to keep your skin lubricated and moist
- Exposure to chemicals found in everyday household items such as detergents, soaps, creams or other chemicals
- Inadequate or deficient nourishment
- Excessive heat – whether bodily or environmental
- Too much stress or anxiety
If you are experiencing dry, cracked hands or feet, there are some measures you can take to improve their condition.
Watch what you eat. If you are not nourishing your body properly, it will be reflected on your skin. You should include foods rich in vitamins C, A, and E. Citrus juices in the morning on an empty stomach can help quite a bit. If you combine it with vegetable juices rich in vitamin A, such as carrots or seaweed, your skin will be better nourished and you will minimize its dryness. Do your best to eat avocados, extra virgin olive oil, fish, dark green vegetables, oranges, and other citrus fruits.
Drink plenty of water. You should drink at least 2 liters of water per day. This will help keep your skin hydrated and your blood fluid. Drinking water will also keep you cool throughout the day, which is necessary for your sweat glands to control your body temperature and avoid excessive body heat.
Don’t hold your number 1. If you feel the need to urinate, do not hold it for too long. This can increase your body heat and thereby affect your skin.
Moisturize your skin. Use a highly concentrated moisturizer on your hands and feet to keep them feeling and looking smooth. Beeswax can do wonders for your skin, so we recommend you use a cream like Formula 2 to get the highest concentration of effective ingredients.
Soak your hands and feet. Mix some water, sea salt, and extra virgin olive oil to eradicate fungus in case that is why you are experiencing dryness. Sea salt kills fungus and the olive oil will nourish your skin.
Avoid long periods of stress. While it can be easier said than done, try to avoid prolonged periods of stress, which can take a toll on your skin.
Ocean water. If you are lucky enough to live close to the beach, use it. Sea water is excellent for your skin.
By taking these steps, you will help your body rebalance itself and activate the necessary changes to improve your skin.
